Wulfgard
Mercenary Commander
Damage Tank · Squad Sustain
Overview
Wulfgard is the bedrock defender. He doesn’t carry runs the way Chen Qianyu does, but he makes every run survive. His passive halves squad-wide damage from elemental sources, his block stance reduces frontal damage by 70%, and his ult heals 18% of squad max HP across 3 ticks. Players who skip him struggle hard in chapter 4 onward.
Kit & Skills speculation
Passive — Iron Vanguard: while alive, all squad members take 50% less elemental damage. Skill 1 — Bulwark Stance: deflects 70% frontal damage for 6s and taunts within 10 m. Skill 2 — Repulse Slam: hammer strike that staggers all enemies in a 5 m radius and stuns elites for 1.5s. Ult — Aegis Pulse: 3-tick AoE heal restoring 18% squad max HP and granting a damage-absorbing shield equal to 12% Wulfgard’s max HP for 8s.
Recommended Build speculation
Primary stat priority: HP% > DEF% > Effect Resist > Healing Bonus. Weapon: Aegis Standard at SR2+ for the ult uptime synergy. Module: Vigil Core (regenerates 0.4% max HP per second to squad while in Bulwark Stance). Substat target: 12,000 base ATK is enough; stack defensive substats.
Synergies speculation
Wulfgard fits any composition that needs sustain. He is a no-brainer in the launch meta core: Chen Qianyu + Perlica + Wulfgard + flex. If you skip him, you must invest in Endmin as your sustain instead — but Endmin lacks Wulfgard’s elemental-damage halving, which hurts in chapter 5+ boss fights.
Verdict speculation
A-tier on raw output but functionally S in any squad that wants to clear endgame without rage-quitting. Pull if you have spares after Perlica and Chen.
